RIM FIRE 2013
This fire is the largest wildland fire in recorded history to strike the Sierra Nevada Mountain Range and the third largest in California. The fire is still active as of this writing in mid October. The first two weeks saw extreme fire behavior resulting in the loss of 112 structures. In this presentation you will see this extreme behavior up close and personal as the fire runs through stands of tall timber and crosses highways as if they weren’t there. Total acreage so far is 257,171 or 402 square miles, very nearly the size of Los Angeles City and that is huge.
